An all night search for a reported missing sixteen (16) year old girl came to an end at approximately 4:am this morning when she was located at a friend’s home in the Daisetta, Texas area approximately 28 miles from her home.  Sheriff’s Deputy Bruce Sims responded to the call around 7:pm last evening when the parents of Tera Jo Schubert reported her missing when she failed to return from her usual evening jogging run from her home on CR 2257 in mid-Liberty County.

Searchers from the Tarkington Prairie Volunteer Fire Department and Texas EquuSearch responded to the scene and began searching the wooded areas and ponds in the Davis Hill Sub Division. At the same time a Department Of Public Safety helicopter flew over the search area and the F.B.I was contacted for their resources. As the night wore on, Lead Investigator Sgt. Brian Bortz along with Texas Ranger Brandon Bess followed up on leads that had been developed during the early morning hours and later found the young girl at a friend’s home. She was returned to her parents, in good condition and uninjured, at approximately 4:am and all searchers were released at about 4:30am.  The Amber Alert was also cancelled. Sgt. Bortz said the investigation is continuing.
